Theocharis Pavlidis from Greece was newly appointed as head coach of Tianjin women's water polo team this February to prepare the team for the 2025 National Games of China. The 53-year-old Greek was famous for coaching Olympiacos, a top water polo team of Greece, to clinch the silver medal in the Women's Euro League. In 2023, he led the Chinese team to win gold medal in Asian Games and a ticket to Paris Olympic Games. The Tianjin team he's coaching now has won three successive champions of the National Games of China in the past. Theocharis Pavlidis believes that with all the efforts in training, Tianjin team will step on a higher level. He and his team are targeting on a gold medal of the upcoming National Games of China.
